Sometimes referred to as a Blockchain, a Distributed Database consists of computer nodes that contain exact copies of all of the data records or ‘Blocks’ that have been created. These Blocks of data store information electronically in a digital format. Although Blockchains are more widely known for their crucial role in cryptocurrency systems, they are becoming increasingly used in other applications where the immutabilty of data records offers key advantages over traditional centralised data stores which might be compromised in some way. The innovation with a blockchain is that it guarantees the fidelity and security of a record of data and generates trust without the need for a single trusted third party, that may not be acceptable to all Users wishing to access and participate in a Global Ecosystem.
The New Energy Matrix Data Ecosystems enable efficient and seamless data sharing and validation through Consensus Blockchain Technology. This New Energy Matrix Chain (NEM Chain) will enable companies, organisations, and individuals to share data and collaborate together across countries and jurisdictions without the need to access expensive cloud based solutions that may be located in zones which are not possible to be used by certain parties. Each party will manage their own hardware and software Nodes, which hold their own copy of the data. Data uploaded is automatically replicated to other Nodes according to the Rules of Smart Contracts.
